Tour ideas on picturesque minor roads, guided bike tours for everyone, a sporty 42-kilometre annual "Fahrathon" and day trips with a cultural slant: between May and October, Scharbeutz is a true Mecca for cyclists. Skaters can also enjoy a well-established network of roads and walkways: there are tour ideas for them too, along with a wealth of opportunities to explore the surroundings at a fast or leisurely pace.
For many years, keen cyclist Peter Nelle has been in charge of putting together appealing tours and for accompanying guided trips for beginners and more advanced cyclists. In the nearby area and further afield, he constantly comes up with surprising, beautiful courses full of cultural attractions for regular visitors to Scharbeutz - and for locals - that lead through the flora of east Holstein and offer varying degrees of difficulty.
Forest trail maps and up-to-date information on guided and non-guided cycle and skating tours can be obtained from us at the tourist information office.
