On inline skates around the Süseler See
| Course | Scharbeutz – Gronenberg - Stawedder – Övelgönne - Süsel – Stawedder - Gronenberg – Scharbeutz |
|---|---|
| Distance | 20 km |
The tour starts in Scharbeutz on the large car park on the Pönitzer Chaussee and initially leads out of the town towards the motorway. You leave the fish ponds of the Tangermühle on the right and continue to skate along the cycle path to the crossroads heading for Gronenberg / Klingberg. Here, you turn right at the pedestrian crossing towards Gronenberg and follow the road (which slopes up somewhat to begin with) through the entire village. Look to your right to see some stunning views of the Baltic Sea, making your effort worthwhile.
Now you leave Gronenberg (take care when leaving the town as there are around 5 metres of cobbles intended as a traffic-calming measure) and follow the now pleasantly-meandering road along the forest. Enjoy the wonderful view of the Pönitzer lake district.
Further on, you'll arrive in Stawedder. Behind the Ferienhof Felix, turn right towards Hof Altona. The lovely, smooth, new asphalt in this part of the course is particularly skater-friendly. You continue on this road until Övelgönne, where you turn left onto the cycle path on the highway.
After around a kilometre, you reach the town of Süsel. Just at the entrance to the town, turn left and follow this road to the heart of the town with its beautiful stone church. Go around the church and now continue along the old Bäderstraße through the characteristic landscape back towards Stawedder, through Gronenberg and back to Scharbeutz.
